A Spooky Treat Box! by Jamie Cripps

Good Morning!  Jamie back with you today!  Halloween is one of our favorite Holidays in our house and I love making little surprises for the kids and this spooky little treat box is perfect for holding so many!

Here are the Samantha Walker products I am using today:

Here is a quick tutorial for recreating my project:
2.  Remove the cut from the mat and remove any pieces from the web that should be removed.
3.  Fold the box on all the score marks.
4.  (Optional) Use an ink on the top of the web pieces.
5.  I used a distress ink and placed the ink on my mat then used a foam applicator to cover the web areas.
6.  Using the Samantha Walker Harvest Moon Halloween Stickers Digital Kit, print out the Happy Halloween sticker at the size you want.
7.  Fussy cut the image and place foam adhesive on the backside.
8.  Using the Spider and Web Silhouette Cut, size the spider to fit within the box then cut him on black cardstock.
9.  With a white gel pen, place dashes around the edges of the spider cut.
10.  Gather the Fancy Lattice Spellbinders and a purple colored cardstock.
11.  Create a sandwich for the Grand Calibur.
12.  Run the sandwich through the machine.
13.  Your cut should look like this.  Trim edges and remove pieces as necessary.
14.  With a fine black pen, place dashes around the inside border of the box.
15.  Place adhesive on the four tabs of the box then place the Happy Halloween cut in the bottom right corner.
16.  Fold the box up and adhere on side as shown.
17.  Repeat for the opposite side.
18.  Use white cardstock to wrap the gum pack.
19.  Then wrap the purple decorative cut around the white cardstock and adhere the spider on top with foam adhesive.
20.  Use a piece of roll clear tape to adhere the spider surprise to the box as shown.
21.  Fold the two solid circle shapes down then fold in the two web circle shapes and tuck the tab into the coordinating slot.
22.  Add a small metal rim tag with twine or decorate as desired!

Isn't this box so much fun!?
Just think of all the things you could enclose inside!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A little about the card wrap concept, while these are not meant to serve as envelopes, you could adapt them to be used that way.  However, the edges will not overlap, and weren't intended to either. They are merely a decorative wrap that you can use to wrap a special occasion card, then slip both into a square envelope.

Some ideas with these would be to put a photo behind the lacey card wrap, so that it peeks through. This would make a perfect wedding invitation. You could also insert a piece of vellum, tissue paper, fabric, or cellophane behind the lace to give it a different feel.  These files are here to help you customize a fancy invitation to special event, or to create a special note or Thank You, or for use with any extra special occasion.

New this week! 11/28/11

"Bag Winter Lace" digital cutting file (available only at the Silhouette store online.)

"Christmas Tree Snowflake" digital cutting file (available only at the Silhouette store online.)

This week alone, I will have 34 new digital die designs releasing in the Silhouette store online. The collection features both intricate and simple snowflakes...as well as themed snowflakes.  There are also several lace top tag sets, a few cards, some decorative pennant flags to help you decorate your home for holiday parties...and a lacy gift bag (this one made me smile to create as I thought of how many ways I could use this over the holidays...just imagine it with some bright colored tissue behind the lace cute out...squeal!)

"Card Doily Lace" digital cutting file (available only at the Silhouette store online.)

(The Silhouette store can only be accessed by those using a direct link from the Silhouette Studio software, which is provided with any Silhouette machine.) The easiest way to find these new designs, is to go to the "browse artists" tab in the blue bar at the top of the screen on the Silhouette store homepage, then click on the Samantha Walker logo to browse my portfolio.  These will be showing up in the store as they are loaded from the artists queue.

"Snowflake Card" digital cutting file (available only at the Silhouette store online.)

"Snowman Snowflake" digital cutting file (available only at the Silhouette store online.)

These are just a sampling of what you might find in my Silhouette store this week. There's a chance that some of these will start showing up in the store before the 50 cent sale ends, that is going on this week.
