Creative Team Member Allie created this fabulous
First Aid Box and is providing a detailed Silhouette Studio tutorial too!

Hey there, it's Allie from My Card Party and I have
fun tutorial that will help you customize your projects!

I'm using shapes #62208 (Circle Basket with Small Bow) to create a little first aid basket for my medicine cabinet. I have a full sized first aid kit in the kitchen, but I hate dragging it out for a simple cut. I thought I'd just make a tiny basket to hold the ouchie essentials.

Let's get started. I'll walk you through all the steps using some of the Designer Edition tools. With these great features, you can really style your projects to suit your needs.

You'll need some red cardstock - a scrap will do, and white cardstock - I used a sheet of 8.5x11".

I'm using the basket with a bow, but I will not be needing the bow.
I also don't need the basket to be very big, so I've reduced everything to 75%.

To add a cross, start by drawing a rectangle. Align it with the middle of the basket by selecting the basket and the rectangle and using the ALIGN feature.

Copy the rectangle and rotate it by 90 degrees. ALIGN.

Group the two rectangles and WELD.

To get it aligned I added a rectangle for reference and then made sure it was centered nicely.
Delete the rectangle when you are done aligning.

OFFSET the cross and create an outline.

Change lines to dotted to create a stitched effect.

Make an extra copy of the stitched cross.
Note: Change the lines back to regular cutting lines.
I've changed it to red so you can see it, this will be cut from red cardstock.

Using the OFFSET tool, make an INSET LAYER of the strap.
I've colored it red just so you can see it. This will also be cut from red cardstock.

Ungroup the outer strap and the holes.

Pull away the outer strap and delete. Now you have a smaller strap with holes, to match the first one you cut out.

Assemble basket. The red cross will go inside. You only need to put a little bit of adhesive in between the stitched shape and the opening.

This little project is super affordable and easy. Now it's your turn, go on and customize one of these fun baskets for any occasion!

I filled it with two sizes of bandages, some antibiotic ointment and some lifesavers.
Something sweet makes an ouchie all better!

Here's my basket in action, at home in our medicine cabinet.

Thanks for joining me today.

Creative Team Member Diana created this fabulous
Animal Party Mask Favor using her CAMEO!

Hi! Diana Fisher here with you today. It's about that time for parties for the little ones. Whether it is a pool party, a little weekend get together or a birthday party, you may want to have a little something extra for the kiddies.

Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to make animal party masks using fun animal files you may already have from Samantha Walker.

I started with the Ice Skating Raccoon file. She also has a fox and a bunny that would work, too.

This is the file as it is when you download it. You be un-grouping and deleting the pieces you don't need.

After you are done deleting, you'll have the body, nose and face. Using the eraser tool, erase all of the body creating a chin on the head.

I measured a face and it seems like 10 inches wide is a good size to make the mask. It may be a little big on a toddler, but perfect for elementary ages. I also made the holes for the eyes on the mask larger.

Once all sized together, then separate the pieces and put them on two different mats. You can see here how I divided my pages. The top of the first sheet cut light grey paper. The bottom of it cut black.

Below, will cut dark grey for both the top and the bottom cuts.

Before I cut this last file, I added circles to the sides of the head. This is where I will add twine to be able to tie the mask on.

Once you have all of your pieces cut, you can get some adhesive and twine to begin assembling the mask.

I wanted to have some flexibility for the eye holes on the head, so I did not cut them with the Cameo. I measured afterward and cut them with a small knife.

Once everything was assembled, I tied on the string, leaving one end loose for fitting.

There you have it! A fairly easy way to make masks for a child's event or party. You can have them ready and prepared in advance, or just cut the pieces and have the kids put them together for their party craft.

Remember, these deals end July 5th!

Silhouette double sided adhesive!

This card was so much fun to put together and it was really quick too!
Here is the tutorial:
1.  Place the double-sided adhesive paper on your Silhouette mat with the white side of the paper up.
2.  Select the Silhouette image and size.  I am using the Halloween Witch and Cat with Moon Silhouette cut and the large moon piece is about 3-3/4" and the other pieces are to scale.  Change your cut settings and blade to the double-sided adhesive settings then cut.
3.  Create an A2 cardbase in white.
4.  Apply the large moon to the center top portion of the card.
5.  Remove the yellow backing to expose the adhesive.
6.  Cover the shape with a light yellow glitter.
7.  Remove the excess glitter from the shape and place back in your bottle.
8.  Next adhere your moon slice on top of the moon shape as shown.
9.  Remove the paper backing and cover the shape with a gold/darker shade of yellow.
10. Remove the excess glitter and your images should look like this now.
11. Apply your witch on your moon then cover with black glitter.
12. Remove the extra glitter and dust off the shapes with your brush.  Now all you have to do is embellish the card!  I tied a double ruffled black ribbon along the bottom and finished my card by tying a twine bow around my black bow!

Today Jamie is back using the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software
to create this gorgeous Corsage Box!
Here's the tutorial so you can create your own!
 1.  Import the 3D Window Corsage Box and the Spiral Flower.  Copy the flower and paste so you have two.  Load your paper on your physical mat and cut.  Remove the pieces from the mat.
2.  Remove the box and one of your flowers and enlarge the remaining flower.  Place a coordinating piece of paper on your physical mat and load it into your machine then cut the flower.  Remove the pieces from the mat.

3.  Fold the box on the score line.  If desired, cut a piece of clear paper to cover the window and adhere in place.
4.  Place adhesive on the two front tabs (closet to the decorative edge) and then adhere them to the sides as shown.
5.  Place adhesive on the two back tabs and adhere them to the sides.
6.  Next place adhesive on the four middle tabs.  Adhere the two back tabs to the back sides and the two front tabs to the front sides as shown in the image above.
7.  Bring the top of the box over  and press the tabs underneath the decorative edge.
8.  For each of your flower pieces, start rolling them from the edge.
9.  Continue rolling until it looks like this image.  Slide the flower off your tool (or pencil) and apply adhesive to keep its shape.
10. Cut a piece of ribbon and tie it in a bow.  Adhere the bow to the right corner of the window area.
11. Adhere your larger flower just above the bow.
12. Place in one of your smaller flowers as shown.
13. Finish the box by adhering on the third flower then fill your box as desired!

Now, on to the giveaway...

Good Luck!

Silhouette Portrait Giveaway and Heat Transfer Vinyl Promotion!

***This giveaway is now closed.  Congratulations to Valerie C!***

Good Morning!  Thanks to Silhouette, today we are back with another Silhouette Portrait giveaway and an amazing Heat Transfer Material promotion that you won't want to miss!

Let's start things off with the this sensational
promotion with Silhouette featuring their Heat Transfer Material!
If you haven't tried it yet, this is your chance!

Did you see?
ALL of the heat transfer products are
buy one get one (of equal or lesser value) for free!
This is such a fabulous deal and the offer includes smooth and flocked heat transfer material, printable heat transfer material, and the heat transfer starter kit. Plus, you can mix-and-match however you like!

If you haven't ever worked with the heat transfer material, Jamie is back to show you how easy it is to create this adorable Zombie-lovin' bag!

Supplies:
Misc: Large Canvas Tote Bag

Want to create one of your own?
Here's how!
Download and open the "Zombies" Silhouette file in the Silhouette Studio software.  Size the file as desired and then ungroup.
Select both files and then go to the "Object" menu and highlight "Transform" and select "Flip Horizontally".
Your cut should look similar to this now (backwards!).
Now the next step you can do a couple different ways, you can either place the HTV in your Silhouette machine and "load media" or you can trim your HTV to size and place it on your mat (both have the shiny side down).  I like to use my mat with mine so I don't have to move my rollers and it allows me to use smaller pieces (and scraps!) but it is just a personal preference.

1.  I placed my HTV on my mat to match my software screen.  Choose the Heat Transfer Vinyl setting to match your material, adjust your blade, load your mat and cut!
2.  Remove the backing from the HTV leaving the design you want on the plastic transfer sheet.
3.  Weed out any areas necessary with the hook tool.
4.  Do steps 2-3 for the second cut as well.
5.  Place the larger white flocked HTV on the bag where you want it placed.
6.  Place a cloth or ironing sheet over the design to protect your iron.
7.  Press with a hot iron for 45-60 seconds.
8.  Gently lift of the plastic piece.  If any of the design isn't adhering, place the sheet back down and reapply your pressing cloth and iron again.
9.  Your design should look like this now.
10. Place your dark pink HTV over the top of the flocked letters, centering.
11. Repeat steps 6-8.
12. Your lettering should now look like this image.
13. Do the same using the Zombie Family cut and place it under the lettering as shown.

Isn't it so much fun!?
Just think of all the items (and clothes!) you could decorate around the house!
