Creative Team Member Allie created this fabulous
First Aid Box and is providing a detailed Silhouette Studio tutorial too!

Hey there, it's Allie from My Card Party and I have
fun tutorial that will help you customize your projects!

I'm using shapes #62208 (Circle Basket with Small Bow) to create a little first aid basket for my medicine cabinet. I have a full sized first aid kit in the kitchen, but I hate dragging it out for a simple cut. I thought I'd just make a tiny basket to hold the ouchie essentials.

Let's get started. I'll walk you through all the steps using some of the Designer Edition tools. With these great features, you can really style your projects to suit your needs.

You'll need some red cardstock - a scrap will do, and white cardstock - I used a sheet of 8.5x11".

I'm using the basket with a bow, but I will not be needing the bow.
I also don't need the basket to be very big, so I've reduced everything to 75%.

To add a cross, start by drawing a rectangle. Align it with the middle of the basket by selecting the basket and the rectangle and using the ALIGN feature.

Copy the rectangle and rotate it by 90 degrees. ALIGN.

Group the two rectangles and WELD.

To get it aligned I added a rectangle for reference and then made sure it was centered nicely.
Delete the rectangle when you are done aligning.

OFFSET the cross and create an outline.

Change lines to dotted to create a stitched effect.

Make an extra copy of the stitched cross.
Note: Change the lines back to regular cutting lines.
I've changed it to red so you can see it, this will be cut from red cardstock.

Using the OFFSET tool, make an INSET LAYER of the strap.
I've colored it red just so you can see it. This will also be cut from red cardstock.

Ungroup the outer strap and the holes.

Pull away the outer strap and delete. Now you have a smaller strap with holes, to match the first one you cut out.

Assemble basket. The red cross will go inside. You only need to put a little bit of adhesive in between the stitched shape and the opening.

This little project is super affordable and easy. Now it's your turn, go on and customize one of these fun baskets for any occasion!

I filled it with two sizes of bandages, some antibiotic ointment and some lifesavers.
Something sweet makes an ouchie all better!

Here's my basket in action, at home in our medicine cabinet.

Thanks for joining me today.

Creative Team Member Diana created this fabulous
Animal Party Mask Favor using her CAMEO!

Hi! Diana Fisher here with you today. It's about that time for parties for the little ones. Whether it is a pool party, a little weekend get together or a birthday party, you may want to have a little something extra for the kiddies.

Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to make animal party masks using fun animal files you may already have from Samantha Walker.

I started with the Ice Skating Raccoon file. She also has a fox and a bunny that would work, too.

This is the file as it is when you download it. You be un-grouping and deleting the pieces you don't need.

After you are done deleting, you'll have the body, nose and face. Using the eraser tool, erase all of the body creating a chin on the head.

I measured a face and it seems like 10 inches wide is a good size to make the mask. It may be a little big on a toddler, but perfect for elementary ages. I also made the holes for the eyes on the mask larger.

Once all sized together, then separate the pieces and put them on two different mats. You can see here how I divided my pages. The top of the first sheet cut light grey paper. The bottom of it cut black.

Below, will cut dark grey for both the top and the bottom cuts.

Before I cut this last file, I added circles to the sides of the head. This is where I will add twine to be able to tie the mask on.

Once you have all of your pieces cut, you can get some adhesive and twine to begin assembling the mask.

I wanted to have some flexibility for the eye holes on the head, so I did not cut them with the Cameo. I measured afterward and cut them with a small knife.

Once everything was assembled, I tied on the string, leaving one end loose for fitting.

There you have it! A fairly easy way to make masks for a child's event or party. You can have them ready and prepared in advance, or just cut the pieces and have the kids put them together for their party craft.

Remember, these deals end July 5th!

Silhouette Heat Transfer!

Jamie is with us today to share a fun project using the Print and Cut Butterfly Patchwork Silhouette cut...Yes, that is right...you can use Print and Cuts with the Heat Transfer Materials too!

Today I am going to be making a t-shirt using the Silhouette Printable Heat Transfer Material for dark colored fabrics.  This pack come with 5 - 8-1/2" x11" sheets that work with your inkjet printer!  To see how this works, be sure to check out this great video from Silhouette that shows this process!

Here are my steps!

1. Print out your Patchwork Butterfly on the Printable Heat Transfer Material then apply the sheet to your cutting mat.
2. Follow your screen prompts to cut your file.  While my sheet is still on my mat, I lift up the edges of my butterfly then remove it from the sheet backing.
3. Place your butterfly on your shirt where you want it to go.  Grab a thin towel or extra piece of fabric and place it over your design.  Iron the design in place as instructed on the packaging.

And that's it!  The hardest part of this whole process is deciding on which design to use!
Here's Hannah modeling my finished shirt...

It's gorgeous, right!?  How fun would this be to make as a gift and place it in a coordinating tote as the gift bag?  I think that would make a pretty amazing gift!

Silhouette double sided adhesive!

This card was so much fun to put together and it was really quick too!
Here is the tutorial:
1.  Place the double-sided adhesive paper on your Silhouette mat with the white side of the paper up.
2.  Select the Silhouette image and size.  I am using the Halloween Witch and Cat with Moon Silhouette cut and the large moon piece is about 3-3/4" and the other pieces are to scale.  Change your cut settings and blade to the double-sided adhesive settings then cut.
3.  Create an A2 cardbase in white.
4.  Apply the large moon to the center top portion of the card.
5.  Remove the yellow backing to expose the adhesive.
6.  Cover the shape with a light yellow glitter.
7.  Remove the excess glitter from the shape and place back in your bottle.
8.  Next adhere your moon slice on top of the moon shape as shown.
9.  Remove the paper backing and cover the shape with a gold/darker shade of yellow.
10. Remove the excess glitter and your images should look like this now.
11. Apply your witch on your moon then cover with black glitter.
12. Remove the extra glitter and dust off the shapes with your brush.  Now all you have to do is embellish the card!  I tied a double ruffled black ribbon along the bottom and finished my card by tying a twine bow around my black bow!

You are going to love all that you can do with your
Silhouette and these fabric interfacings!

Jamie is sharing an adorable onesie she created using the Dog Puppy Silhouette cut, the Clean Cut Fabric Interfacing, and the Serenata fabric collection!

Tutorial:
1.  Cut a piece of the Clean Cut Fabric Interface a little smaller than your fabric.  Place the textured side down on the back of your fabric.
2.  Use a hot iron to adhere the interfacing to the fabric.
3.  The back of your fabric should look like this now.
4.  Remove the backing from the interfacing.
5.  Place the fabric on your Silhouette mat.
6.  Insert your Fabric Blade into your machine and load your fabric.

7.  Move your design to match where your fabric is on your mat and then press the "send to silhouette" button.  Change your cut setting to "fabric cotton print" and make sure your blade is adjusted properly.  Press "cut".

 8.  Your Silhouette will cut your design.
 9.  Unload your mat once the cut is complete and remove the fabric.
10. Your cut should look similar to this.  Remove the design from the mat.
11. Place the design on your onesie and place it where you want it.
12. Iron the design on.
13. I used the Clean Cut Fabric Interfacing for my project and then hand-stitched the edges.  If you want to use a machine to sew on your design make sure you use the Sewable Fabric Interfacing.
