Keepin' Cozy Petal Book by Cathy

Hi Samantha Walker Fans!  Cathy here with you today sharing Samantha's Petal Book!  It's so easy to create and it will make the perfect mini for all of your winter photos.  I used Samantha's Echo Park Keepin' Cozy 6x6 paper pad and stickers for my petal book!
I enlarged the book ( as you can see in the screen shot) so that each of my pages were a little over 3 inches wide across the circle part of each page.  That way I knew I could add some fun 3x3 photos of our winter outings!
Just cut all ten pages, layer and punch a whole to add a binding ring!  Then just decorate!  It's a mini you can but together in just a matter of minutes.  Gotta love that!

Here's a peek at some of the inside pages...I can't wait to fill them, I just ordered some photos this morning!

Nativity Gift Set with Cathy

Hi everyone!  Cathy here with you today sharing a nativity gift set created with Samantha's files.  This project came together quickly and makes the perfect last minute hostess gift.  You know you always need some little gifts stashed away for last minute plans and such!

I used SRM vinyl for the bucket.  It is Oracal 631 and it cuts like a dream.

I set my machine for a speed of 8, thickness of 9 and my blade at 2.  I got the little bucket at Target and scaled the SVG file down to the settings below.  It's a detailed cut but the vinyl cut beautifully and was easy to weed!
Apply your design, add candy and a bit of ribbon.

I also created a card to match using Samantha's Nativity Card.  I added a piece of red patterned paper from Samantha's Echo Park Keepin' Cozy 6x6 paper pad.
I love the textured black paper against the red.  Striking!

Trick or Treat Chalkboard with Cathy

Hi and welcome to the Samantha Walker Creative Team Blog!  I have a project to share today with you that didn't go quite according to plan but still turned out cute and I learned a few things along the way!
My plan was to create a stencil with Silhouette's stencil material, but for some reason my transfer paper just wouldn't hold the design....Grrr.
So I used the positive design instead of the negative like you normally do for a stencil!

I adhered my Trick or Treat phrase to the chalkboard with some light tack tape.

Then I traced the design with a white chalk marker!

Not the crispest of lines, but it worked and all I had left to do was color it in with the chalk marker.

I think it turned out pretty cute...like I said it wasn't my original plan and I think creating a stencil would give you a crisper, cleaner look.  But you could do this with card stock or vinyl, and simply trace your design!

And it looks pretty dang cute here with my adorable monster all set to go Trick or Treating!

Thanks for joining us today and have a
Happy Halloween!

Make A Wish with Burlap by Cathy

Welcome Samantha Walker Fans!  Cathy here with you
today and I am totally addicted to printing quotes onto printable burlap.  I found it at Walmart in the hobby aisle, and it goes through my printer like a dream.  So much fun to create instant art at very small price!

I chose Samantha's "Make a Wish" file to add some inspiration to my studio!

First, open up the design in your Silhouette Studio and change your page setting to 8.5 x11.  Next, go to ALIGN and center the design to the page!

Now go to Fill color, ungroup the design, highlight each row and choose your fill color.  Keep in mind to choose a bit brighter of a color, as the burlap will mute it just a little.

Next, you need to change the line color on all of the words. You want to change the red color, or cut lines....click on Line Color and again just click the colors to match your fill colors.
That's it...now just click the printer in your Silhouette Studio and your done!  All you have to do is frame it and hang it!

Can't wait to see what you create with Samantha's quotes and designs!

Apple Basket by Cathy

Hi Samantha Walker fans!  Cathy here sharing a quick back to school project with you!  I created this adorable little apple basket for my granddaughter Raini to give to her teacher on her first day of First Grade!  So easy and it really only took a matter of minutes to put together for her!

I used papers from Samantha's
Carta Bella Summer Lovin' Collection and a bit of black card stock.  I kept the basket the original size, the only thing I added was some Silhouette Sketch pen stitching on the handle and stem with a Green Sketch Pen.
After putting the basket together, I cut the First Grade title, I did have to reduce the size of the file.  Just measure your basket and decide on how big or small you want it!
Adhere the words together and adhere to the basket, fill with pencils or whatever other fun back to school items and a simple tie of red ribbon to accent!

Raini loved it and that's all that really matters.

Frame Mini Album with Cathy!

Hi!  So glad to have you join us today, it's Cathy hosting the blog.  I have a simple and quick mini album to share with you today that I created for my teenage daughter.  Samantha Walker's new Carta Bella Collection Summer Lovin' is so much fun and perfect for preserving my daughter's summer time memories.  Her plan is to add lots of 3x3 instagram photos.

I purchased the fun frame at Michaels and removed the inside plastic pieces that hold the photo in.  I then cut the journaling card paper into 12 pieces and punched two holes through the whole stack with my crop-o-dile.  Next, add two one inch binding rings through all of them and hang from the top of the frame.  Easy peasy!

All you have left to do now, is to decorate the frame!
I cut three flowers using two of Samantha's rolled flower files.  I used the Summer Lovin' 6x6 pad for these.  Note: I only ended up using two of these on the frame.
I love how quickly these flowers go together...just roll around a pencil and glue with some super tacky glue.  I used Helmar's Quick Dry adhesive.

I glued the flower on and added a few stickers from the Summer Lovin' collection.

It's a super fun and fast project.  My daughter loves it!

Sunny Shaker Box Layout with Cathy

Hi Samantha Walker fans!  Cathy here to share a layout with you featuring an adorable baby girl, Samantha Walker's Carta Bella Collection Summer Lovin' and a couple of Samantha's Silhouette files.  I used the Sunny Word Logo Set #10879 and Scalloped Circle Border Set #9359 to create this bright and sunny layout. I did another shaker box layout for the Creative Team blog hop this month with a square shaker box, you can find that tutorial here.  You can make a shaker out almost any shape, just by adding layers of card stock in the basic shape of your cut.

I cut the Sunny first out of the white background paper...don't remove the mat yet, and offset your title, switch the blade out for a Silhouette Sketch pen and send it through again.  I backed my negative cut title with the super cute flamingo paper from the Summer Lovin' Collection.

Next, I cut my sun and border out of yellow card stock.  Ungroup the sun and you will be able to remove the swirl.  The sun without the swirl will be the back of your shaker box.

Again, don't remove your mat, but you can delete the bottom sun and border from your screen.  Now, do an internal offset of the sun and then change the line to a dash. Switch your blade out again for a Silhouette Sketch pen (make sure to remove the original sun so that you just have the dotted line) and send it back through!

Next, cut a few circles out of yellow card stock.  These build the depth for your shaker box so that you can add sequins and such.

After they are cut, glue them all together to for a stacked circle.

Somehow I deleted a photo step here, sorry! Just glue this ring to the solid sun, fill with sequins and add the swirly cut sun that you lined with clear plastic so that your sequins stay put.

I love this adorable photo of Kate at the beach with the Sunny title and shaker box....it highlights her personality so well. She brings sunshine wherever she goes.
