PhotoShop Digital Scrapbook Tutorial by Joscelyne Cutchens

Hello friends, it's Joscelyne with you today! I want to share a few techniques I like to use in Photoshop when I create a digital layout. I'll show you how to create a shape, how to use that shape as a clipping mask and how to use the stroke tool to create your own framed pictures. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments and I'll do my best to help you out.

I created this layout to commemorate Pi(e) Day using Samantha Walker's Cuckoo Chocolate Papers and Elements.

Thanks for following along with me!

  1. Fabulous tutorial, thanks so much!

  2. Absolutely GORGEOUS layout!

  3. I'm using pse 9. When I get to the point to add the stroke I don't have the fx in the layer so I can't follow your instructions to stroke. Can you help me so I can complete this layout. Thanks a bunch. My e mail is

  4. wagge: (I haven't used PSE in a few years and I don't have it on my computer right now, I think this is how you do it)when you try to add a stroke in PSE, select the layer you want to add the stroke to and from the menu > edit> stroke. this should open a dialog box you can fill in.

From time to time I make recommendations of products that I love to use, or products that I have designed. Occasionally, manufacturers send me products to play with. They have not obligated me to show them on my blog or review them. I only make positive remarks about those things that I truly love and enjoy to use. Everyone's personal experience with various products may be different, as we all use things in different ways. I am not compensated for these remarks, and merely pass on my opinion to you as a reader. I hope you find my opinions valuable.
