Rough & Tumble Shaker Card with Cathy!

Hi Samantha Walker fans, Cathy here today and I have a fun shaker card full of sequins to share with you today.  I used Samantha's Carta Bella collection Rough & Tumble!  It's such a fun collection to work with plus I love the texture and weight of Carta Bella's Paper. 

I used Samantha's Cloud with Swirls file to create my card.  Just click on the photo below and it will take you right to the file on the Silhouette Online Store.

 My card base is an A2 with the score at the top, it is just plain white card stock. I cut the cloud out of Salt Dotted Swiss Card Stock and the swirl from the Carta Bella paper.

First, resize the cloud to what you see here.  

 Ungroup the pieces as shown here.  I then added the rectangle around my cloud so that I had the perfect size for my A2 card.  The rectangle is 5x4.  I just eyeballed centering the cloud.

While you Silhouette is busy cutting those pieces, cut a 4 1/8 x 5 1/8 piece of red card stock from the Carta Bella paper and a 4x5 piece of your choice of Carta Bella paper for what you see inside your cloud.  I used a clear bag that some brads had been packaged in for the clear window.  I just simply cut it down to 3 3/4 x 4 1/2.

 I adhered the clear plastic to the back side of the Bazzill with scor-tape on 3 sides. Make sure to leave one side open to add your sequins.  

 Next, adhere the piece that will show through the window and fill with sequins.  I added a bunch.  Then just seal of the opening with a bit more score tape.  Mount this piece to the red Carta Bella card stock and then to your card base.  

Finish, your card by adhering the swirl for the cloud with a glue pen and then embellish with Rough & Tumble chipboard, stickers and enamel dots.  Your card is now ready for shaking!

I have one more quick card to share with you that I created from the what I had left over and using the same cloud file and adding one of the star bursts from Samantha's 4 star burst file. Again, just click on the file photo and it will take you right to the file at the Silhouette Online store.

Rough and Tumble Layout by Diana Fisher

Hello! Diana Fisher here with you today sharing a layout using the Rough and Tumble collection from Carta Bella by Samantha Walker. 

At first glance, this collection does seem a little young for an older boy, but I really love the neutral tones and navy in the collection. Throw in the argyle pattern, and Rough and Tumble is perfect for documenting my 7-year-old son.

I didn't take any step-by-step pictures (mostly because I could not hold my camera and a hole punch at the same time), but I do have a tip for you when you work with this collection.

You can see below the strip of yellow "tickets" layered under the photo. Here are some tips on getting that ticket look from a border strip sheet of 12x12 paper.

That border strip is from the paper called Explore Together. If you cut the strips horizontally, use one of the strips that has the pre-notched ticket pattern in the paper. Once you have it separated from the rest of the paper, take your little hole punch (hand held will work much better than a 3-hole punch) and line it up so that you are punching each side of the notches. 

Do that all the way down the border on each side. You can see in the image above that it really looks like a line of tickets rather than a straight-edge border strip.

3-d samantha walker lace-close box

1. Open and cut 3-d  Samantha Walker lace-close box using Silhouette Cameo and patterned paper.

2.  Assemble the box and adhere. Add jewel brads.

3. Cut 6 3x4 pages from patterned paper. Add patterned paper strips, chipboard and stickers. Bind the album

4. Finish by decorating the front of the box with chipboard and stickers.

Note: I decorated the box so that it can be used in vertical position with the small flap opening on the right. When adding stickers, remove the adhesive by applying some baby powder to the back. Add adhesive only to the left side or right side of the stickers so that the box can be opened. The right flap tucks under the brad and stays secured.

Hi everyone. Claudia here. Its Christmas Eve! Can you believe it?
I am so excited to share a very special moment with you.

Today I am going back to my digi scrapper roots, using one of 
my all time favorite kits, Rough & Tumble.

I created my layout using Samantha's digital kit. These photos were taken earlier this year at Disneyland in California. We are so blessed to be celebrating Christmas at Disney World this year; we are excited to make more memories like these.

I love that this kit is also available for all you paper scrappers too!

Pattern Basics Clear Stamps

1. Using a chevron stamp from Pattern Basics, stamp on the glassine bag using VersaMark ink. Heat emboss using embossing powder. Do the same thing with the sentiment using black embossing powder. 

2. Layer two different pieces of patterned paper on the cardstock base. Adhere the glassine bag, and different chipboard elements. Add sequins to the card front.
