A Fun Nautical Treat Basket by Guiseppa

Hey all...Guiseppa here and I am excited to share with you a fun Nautical Treat Basket I made using some of  Samantha's Silhouette digital dies and Nautical Collection from Creative Imaginations.  So, first off, here is a look at the project!

There is a fun little surprise in each of the flower stars, so let's get started so you can try this at home.  First off, I cut my basket out.  This is Samantha's Scalloped Basket.

Then, I assembled it.  The notches in the basket make it so easy to put together.  I recommend putting in the bottom part of the basket first...like this.

When you have it all connected, it should look like this.

Now for the fun flower stars!  This is one of Samantha's dies, the Flower Nesting Star.  So, you will need to ungroup these flowers to select the size of flower star you want to make.  To ungroup, highlight the whole flower, and then right click.  Select ungroup.  Now, you will be able to pull apart the star to choose your size.

Choose your flower size and them copy and paste it so you have two flowers.

Peel your flowers off.  Next you want to pick the sides that you want showing.  For this one, I wanted the lobsters showing.  You are going to sew them together, so put them together so the pattern you want faces outside.

Next you are going to sew the flowers together, but keep in mind that you want an opening to fill it with candy!

Now it is ready to fill.  I chose Nerds because they were small and easier to use as a candy filler.

For the final step...finish sewing it up!

I also made a clear one using a sheet protector...just for fun!

Now, I have fun treat basket to use.  These can be ripped open like a candy bar!  This might come in handy for the kids that hang around my house and neighborhood, but you can use it and design it anyway you want.  In fact, try different shapes.  Samantha has a whole library filled with digital dies!  Check them out here
