I am thrilled to announce my 2011 Creative Crafters Team! They are going to blow your socks off! They did me!
Honestly, my socks were blown away by the entire list of 132 passionate crafters who applied either through my FB page, my blog or e-mails. You guys are truly amazing! You share your heart and soul through your art, crafting and writing and should be proud of yourselves for creating such beautiful legacies for your generations to come. Your families will pass down your quilts, your scrapbooks, your little creations and cherish them as the precious heirlooms that they are. You are doing a beautiful thing. Please keep creating!
The fact that art and crafting are so personal--literally a piece of you...made it that much more agonizing. It is impossible to compare and contrast one persons creations to the next. How does one do that? Crafting is your outward expression of your personal journey and life experience--it's all good! The colors you choose, the depth of detail or boldness...or subtle simplicity all expose a little bit of who you are. I am so impressed that you would put yourself out there to share some of that with others. What you do, inspires others to seek inside themselves to create too! It certainly inspired me.
As I put my team together, I wanted to make sure of one thing in particular...and that is that many styles were represented in my team. We all know that it takes different kinds of people to create an exciting world. What inspires one may not be what drives another. I felt that my team should represent that...so I chose a wide variety of crafters....from simple practical crafters who have great unexpected ideas that any crafter could apply to their designs...to more elaborate crafters that are technique oriented, to altered artists, and much more...You'll see!
I want you to know that I was truly overwhelmed with the response to this team call. I looked over all of your blogs and several of them multiple times. Each and every one of you touched me or inspired me in one way or another...from your stories, to your personal style. I kept many of your blogs up on my computer desk-top and looked again, and again.
By all means, making a decision did not come easy. I originally was looking for a team of 5 talented ladies...but soon found that task to be impossible from a list of over 130 incredibly talented applicants. I tried to whittle my list to 50, then down to 30, then down to 20 and got totally stuck. How in the world would I narrow it down to just 5. So I didn't pick 5. I picked 10...and that was incredibly hard! I feel my decision of choosing more than 5, will be worth it, as I showcase these 10 fantabulous ladies and their ideas and creations. They are excited to get going, and I can't wait to see what the year brings.
As always...if you ever feel like sharing your creations to inspire others how my products can be used, feel free to post pictures of your projects on my facebook design update page at: www.facebook.com/samanthawalkerdesigns.
In no particular order...I'd like to announce my 2011 Creative Crafters team!

This team will be unique as it is not a single manufacturers Design Team...but rather a dream of mine, to put together a team that could showcase how to mix and match the products that I design for multiple manufacturers within one single group. Maybe you are familiar with the things I design for Creative Imaginations, OR Unity Stamps, OR Silhouette digital dies, OR Riley Blake fabrics...but how does it all work together? That is my dream with this team...to share with you a few interpretations of that concept. We all have different ideas...I hope that the ladies on my team will resonate with the crafter in you!
